Virtual City Reconstruction of Harlem Creek Landscape

Virtual City software was developed at the University of Missouri-St. Louis to generate electronic 3D reconstructions of historical landscapes. When displayed in Google Earth, a slide bar allows users to view urban landscapes as they change over time. The animation below depicts landscape change in a portion of the Harlem Creek corridor in northwest St. Louis. The model was created in collaboration with the City of St. Louis Urban Vitality and Ecology initiative and has been used in community planning processes for the design of green infrastructure.
