Missouri Mesonet Weather Station at the Saint Louis Science Center

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Climate Team member, Dr. Pat Guinan and his collaborator, Dr. John Travlos, established a new EPSCoR real-time mesonet station at the Saint Louis Science Center (SLSC).  Situated near the SLSC planetarium, the weather station collects real-time weather data and serves as an educational tool for the over one-million visitors to the SLSC each year.  The mesonet station was set up in October 2018 and is already collecting data.  Real-time maps can be accessed on the Missouri Mesonet website.

They would like to thank Missouri EPSCoR, Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, Saint Louis Science Center, National Weather Service-St. Louis, Division of Applied Social Sciences, School of Natural Resources and University Extension for making this possible.
